We’ve been shortlisted for an IT Oscar!

31 October 2008

Business Stream, Scotland's leading water and waste water sercice supplier, has been shortlisted for an award at the 16th Annual Computing Awards for the company with the Best Small Business IT Strategy.

As these awards are recognised as being the equivalent of the IT world’s Oscars, our IT team are justifiably proud to receive this level of recognition. The winner will be announced on Guy Fawkes’ Night in London, so we all sincerely hope that Business Stream will have another good reason to “Remember, remember the fifth of November”.

Our IT Strategy will be judged for its level of innovation, quality and approach by a judging panel selected from the industry’s most influential and powerful members. This includes the Cabinet Office’s own chief information officer and the CBI’s head of e-business.

Since achieving market opening and receiving our licenses to operate in the new water market, Business Stream’s IT team have faced and overcome a multitude of challenges. This makes us confident that our strategy is robust and will more than hold its own against any of the other companies that have been shortlisted. Mark Powles, Chief executive said, "With impressive results such as an industry high of 81% customer satisfaction, along with 51% employee engagement we feel justifiably proud of what our team has achieved, and, to top it all off, they have managed all of this whilst coming in 30% under budget!

It’s achievements like these that have led to Business Stream being recognised in this way and with such a winning formula let’s hope our IT team go one step further and bring home the Computing Award for Best Small Business IT Strategy."
