McHardy appointed new sales and marketing head at Scottish Water Business Stream

McHardyBusiness Stream has further bolstered its senior management team with the recruitment of Tony McHardy from British Energy Power & Energy Trading as its new Head of Sales and Marketing.

McHardyMcHardy joins Business Stream - a Scottish Water company -   after six years as Business Manager at British Energy, the UK’s largest electricity generation business providing retail electricity to commercial and industrial customers.

During his time at British Energy, McHardy oversaw the delivery of the industrial & commercial business revenue totalling £650M over the last year. He also led the company through a major restructuring and change management phase across 2005/06 while working as acting head of sales .  

In his new role at Business Stream, McHardy will be tasked with developing the go to market strategy  ahead of the deregulation of the water market for business customers in April next year.

Commenting on his new role, McHardy said: “I‘m relishing the challenges which undoubtedly lie ahead at Business Stream. Essentially it’s a start up business and we can’t wait to deliver for our customers and show the market  that we’re the water service provider of choice for Scottish businesses.’’
