Mark Powles

Mark Powles, Chief Executive

Mark joined Business Stream in March 2007, one year before the competitive market in Scotland officially opened. He’s brought a wealth of management experience of operating in highly regulated, competitive retail service markets across travel, transport and Financial Services, with companies such as Sealink Stena Line, National Express Group and AEGON UK.

From the start, Mark has worked to build a strong brand for Business Stream where the customer is at the heart of the company, and where customers remain loyal based on the strength of the products, services and value for money provided.

Business Stream was named Green Business of the Year last year at the Real Business/CBI’s annual UK Growing Business award ceremony for encouraging Scottish organisations to implement environmental and water efficiency programmes. Mark was also recently recognised by the Institute of Directors and won Director of the Year at Scotland's IoD Awards 2009.

Craig Watson

Craig Watson, General Manager, Customer Experience

Craig joined Business Stream in June 2010 after six years as managing consultant at global consulting, technology and outsourcing firm Capgemini.

Craig brings with him more than twenty years of experience in operations and customer management, he will help make sure Business Stream’s 96,000 customers receive consistent support and the best possible service.

Ian Hewson

Ian Hewson, Head of Water and Waste Water Solutions

Ian’s role as Business Stream is to help customers save water and rationalise effluent and waste disposal. He has managed multi discipline teams in water and waste water treatment for 11 years and is responsible for managing project delivery, design and technical assistance.

He was previously a designer in the water industry prior to taking up a management role. Before that he was a design draughtsman in the mining industry.

David Seymour

David Seymour, Head of Market Development

As head of market development, David is responsible for negotiating with English water companies to enable customers to switch. He also plays a key role in winning new business and supporting the rest of the organisation to enable customers to switch supplier as quickly and easily as possible.

David has been a director of SSE Water, where he set up the division from a standing start to support the development of the energy firm’s electricity and gas networks, responsible for the overall delivery of commercial objectives and maintaining customer service standards.
