If your property does not have a water meter, you’ll be charged a fixed annual fee based on your rateable value for your water supply.

If you do have a meter, then the fixed charge will depend on its size. You may only get charged for a smaller meter size, if:

• your property has a fire fighting system and you have a fire tariff agreement
• you are a trade effluent customer.

In either case, Scottish Water (the wholesaler) will work out the appropriate meter size for charging purposes.
