How you can help us

Everything’s better when we work together.

We’ll do everything we can to resolve problems as soon as they come up – but there are a few things you can do to help us do our job a bit more quickly.

Leave it to us

With your permission we can make arrangements to install, maintain, test, repair, replace, remove, disconnect or reconnect meters and metering equipment for you. Remember the meter is owned by Scottish Water so please don’t make any changes to the meter or its associated pipe work.

Permission to proceed

If the above is likely to involve us doing a bit of physical work on your site(s), we’ll need you to get consent (as required by law) for us to carry out the work. If you’re a tenant under a lease, for example, this would be from your landlord.

Give us access

Allow us (and sometimes our vehicles) safe and unobstructed access to your site(s) and meter(s), so we can get in and out.

Tell us everything

The more information you can give us, the easier it’ll be for our team. It’d really help us out if you could provide any information we might need in a timely fashion so that we can take care of any maintenance or repairs without delay.

Protecting your pipework

It’s up to you to look after any pipework within the boundary of your premises. You can help by making sure your pipes are protected from extreme weather or any other type of damage. We can help you spot any cracks or leaks in the pipes, but you will have to pay for any repairs that need doing.

If you think there is a problem with your pipework, drop us a line at customer.service@business-stream.co.uk.
