If you have a water meter, make sure you check it regularly, and if you think there is a problem, just email us at customer.service@business-stream.co.uk or give us a call on 0845 602 8855.
We will arrange for someone to come and make sure it's working accurately, replace it if it's broken or install another meter if you need a smaller or larger one.
Testing the meter’s accuracy
If you are worried that the meter isn't taking the right reading, we can arrange for it to be tested. We can either do this within 10 days or 28 days, depending on how quickly you want it done.
If the test shows the meter is accurate to within 5%, there will be a small charge. But if the results confirm that your meter is more than 5% out, it will be replaced at no charge and we won't charge you for the test. We’ll also review your bills to make sure you haven't been overcharged.
Changing the size of your meter
If you ask us to change the size of your meter, there will be a small charge. But we will let you know the cost in advance.
Replacing a damaged meter
If your meter does get damaged and we need to replace it, we will make a small charge for the volume of water we estimate would have passed through the damaged meter. But we'll tell you how much this is before we add it to your bill.
