Business Stream eBilling & direct debit bonus discount

  1. To apply for eBilling and/or direct debit discounts, customers can either post in their completed mandates or email them as attachments. For customers wishing to email in their mandates, please note that Business Stream operates an open email system.
  2. By signing up to direct debit, customers will receive a discount of 2% on their water and/or waste water bill.
  3. By signing up to eBilling customers, will receive a discount of 2% on their water and/or waste water bill.
  4. Customers that sign up to pay their bills through direct debit, who have already signed up to eBilling, will receive a further 1% discount. Their total discount will be 5%.
  5. Customers that sign up to eBilling, who already pay through direct debit, will receive a further 1% discount. Their total discount will be 5%.
  6. Customers that sign up to eBilling and direct debit at the same time will receive a total discount of 5%.
  7. The discounts will be added to a customer’s account(s) within five working days of Business Stream receiving the customer’s mandate. If customers wish to sign up for both eBilling and direct debit, this need to be done at the same time for the start dates to be the same for both services.
  8. Incomplete forms will be return to customers by post, with further instructions on how to complete them. These forms will not be processed until they are completed.
  9. To remain on eBilling, customers must activate their eBilling account within twenty one days of signing up. This means following the link in the email that we send when customers first agree to take the services and the resetting of their password. Failure to do so will result in removal of the discount and customers will receive paper bills again.
  10. Discounts will not be available to customers on special agreements.
  11. Customers on volume agreements will only receive a 1% discount on direct debit. By signing up to eBilling, these customers will receive a discount of 2% and an additional 1% if they sign up to, or already pay by, direct debit.
  12. Discounts are available to measured and unmeasured customers.
  13. Discounts will only be applied to current charges on the bill – not the bill total, as this could contain brought forward amounts.
  14. In the event of a direct debit defaulting, the 2% discount, and where customers are also signed up to eBilling the further 1% discount, will be reclaimed if the customer pays by another means. Customers are removed from direct debit after two failures.
  15. If the customer requests that they come off eBilling, then the 2% discount, and where they also pay by direct debit the further 1% discount, will be reclaimed.
  16. If an unmeasured customer, who is signed up to eBilling and/or pays by direct debit, moves out of their current property, the discount will be prorated and reclaimed.
  17. If a customer’s meter is misread, the customer’s charges, together with the discounts, will be re-billed and reissued with the correct charges and correct discount.
  18. If a customer signs up for eBilling and/or direct debit but cancels before the bill is issued, then the discounts will also be cancelled for the entire time.
  19. If a customer pays by instalments, the charges and discounts will be spread evenly, rather than all the discounts being applied to the first payment date.
