Welcome

Welcome to a special edition of our newsletter, Making water work, Business Stream’s ezine specifically for MSPs.

We recently visited the Scottish Parliament to give MSPs the chance to speak to us about the water supply issues most often raised by their constituents. We received some great feedback and had some interesting discussions.

We’ll be back in the Parliament on November 24 at 10am – we hope to see you there.

In the meantime, we wanted to put together a special edition of our regular ezine for MSPs, to highlight the discussions and answer any questions on Scotland’s non-household water market.

It’s clear that this market, which was only opened to competition less than four years ago, isn’t always well understood. That inevitably leads to problems from time to time, and in general we see a certain few issues being raised regularly. For example:

  • Why aren’t all charities eligible for charging exemptions?
  • Why do large bills sometimes seem to suddenly appear after a business has been in a premise for several months?
  • Why can’t a customer receive a water or waste connection in the timescales they require?

In this ezine, we’ll address issues like these so you are better able to help your constituents resolve their queries, and we’ll hear from one of our customer relations experts on how MSPs can advise their constituents when it comes to water.

In the meantime, we want to help your constituents get the most out of Scotland’s world-leading water market – please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me at mark@business-stream.co.uk
