Following an industry wide consultation there has been a change to the criteria that determines which water meters are read, and therefore billed, monthly.
If you’d like to find out more about this consultation there are helpful documents on the Central Market Agency Ltd’s (CMA) website. The CMA administers the market for water and waste water retail services in Scotland.
The criteria for these monthly meter readings are based on annual consumption, certain pipe connections and specific tariff conditions. You can find these criteria on the CMA website.
If you match these criteria we’ll be reading your water meter and sending you a bill every month rather than quarterly. Your water meter will be read during the last week of each month and your bill sent at the beginning of the following month.
Reading your meter every month will provide you with a more accurate and regular update on your usage patterns and will help you manage your water and waste water more efficiently.
If you have taken your own read and you’d like to be billed on it you can submit your meter reading online.
