Moving premises?

If you’re moving out your current property, you must tell us before you leave. Then, once you’ve moved, use our online form to give us your forwarding address – and details for any new property you move to.

Moving out (and not to a new property)

If you will no longer be in your property, and aren’t moving to a new one, you will need:

  • a recent bill
  • your new and existing contact details
  • details of your new/forwarding billing address
  • details of the new occupier/landlord for the property you have vacated
  • your final meter reading(s) (if your property was metered) – make sure you take this on the day you move out.

Moving to a new property

If you’re continuing to use our services at a new property, you will need:

  • a recent bill
  • your new and existing contact details
  • details of your new/existing billing address
  • details of the new occupier/landlord for the property you have vacated
  • your final meter reading(s) for your old property (if it was metered) – make sure you take this on the day you move out
  • your opening meter reading(s) for your new property (if it is metered) – make sure you take this on the day you move in.

Before you leave your property

As our terms and conditions indicate, you need to give us at least 14 days’ notice before you move out of your property. Please drop us an email to customer.service@business-stream.co.uk and let us know the date you’re moving. Include your customer reference and the address of the property that we supply.

Take a final meter reading

If the property you are leaving has a meter, and it's safe to do so, make a note of the reading and the serial number on the day you move out. This will make sure your final bill is as accurate as possible.

After you have left your property

When you have moved out, please complete our short form, so we can send you a final bill for your old property – and, if you are moving to a new property, set up your new account.

Using the form

For security, we’ll ask you to verify your existing details before you give us any new information. We would also like a final meter reading from the property you are leaving, and one for the new property when you move in – if applicable. Completing the form should only take a few minutes. About ten working days after, you will receive the final bill for your old property and if you’re continuing your supply, the first bill for your new property. Remember you can only use this form if you have already moved out of your property.
