Business Stream supports public sector conference

06 August 2009

Business Stream is proud to support Holyrood's 2009 Greening the Public Sector conference on 28 September.

Reducing carbon emissions across the public sector will be key to Scotland’s future, not only for economic reasons, but to meet climate change and Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) targets. Whilst there have been many discussions on sustainability and the impetus for organisations to have a low carbon footprint, there is little consensus regarding good practice for ‘greening’ an organisation’s standard operating and support procedures. This conference will equip delegates with the information they need to make their services and technologies more sustainable, efficient and cost effective.

Tony McHardy, head of sales and marketing will be presenting a customer case study giving practical advice on how to decrease water consumption and reduce costs. Other speakers include:

  • Jim Mather MSP, Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism
  • Evan Williams, Managing Director, Environmental and Resource Economics and Chair of The Scottish Sustainable Development Forum
  • Sara Parkin OBE, Founder Director (and Trustee), Forum for the Future
  • Dave Gorman, Head of Environmental Strategy, SEPA

The conference is on the 28th of September at the Roxburgh Hotel in Edinburgh.
