Where we can we'll read your water meter twice a year. This will let you see how much water you're using and help you improve your water efficiency. It'd be really handy if you could make sure we can access your water meter when the reading is due.

If you want to be really efficient, you can reduce the number of estimated bills you receive and understand your consumption better by taking your own meter readings as well.

To do this, find your water meter (we can help you track it down if you don't know where it is), lift the hinged lid and make a note of the black numbers on a white background. These record your water consumption in cubic metres. Ignore the white numbers on red - these refer to litres.

Then, visit the "submit a reading" page to give us your reading, or phone us on 0845 602 8855. Please have the water meter's serial number to hand when you phone. We'll ask you to confirm it matches our records to make sure that we bill you accurately.
