For our people we're supportive by nature
We're committed to providing a great place to work where our people feel trusted, valued and empowered.
To help achieve this ambition, we've introduced a wide range of new initiatives to enhance our colleagues' health and wellbeing and support their learning and development goals.
Health and wellbeing initiatives for all
Over 200 colleagues are already enjoying the benefits of our health and wellbeing initiatives, including yoga and mindfulness sessions, and mental health first aid training.
Confidential support, whenever it's needed
We've introduced an Employee Assistance Programme, offering 24/7 confidential support to all our colleagues and their families.
Supporting our colleagues
Colleague engagement has improved by 11% to 73% and over 80% of colleagues felt we supported them really well to work from home during the COVID-10 pandemic.
Investing in people
In the past year alone we’ve supported four people to complete and graduate from our Modern Apprenticeship programme and we've committed to offer four Modern Apprenticeship places every year for the next four years.
Supporting Scotland's young people
We’re committed to investing in and developing Scotland’s young people by providing training and work opportunities – over 10% of our total workforce are aged 24 or younger.
Training with our customers in mind
We've invested in training to help develop our colleagues' skills in customer service, leadership and continuous improvement techniques. And we’ve provided sponsored study support to a number of our people studying towards professional qualifications.
A real living wage for everyone
As a responsible business, we strongly support the ethos that ‘a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay’ and that’s why we’re proud to be a Real Living Wage employer. To find out more, click here.
