Non-Executive Director appointed to major water retailer

Financial services expert brings decades of experience to the boardroom

A HIGHLY respected figure in the financial services sector has joined the board of one of the UK’s largest water retailers as a Non-Executive Director.

Brian Monaghan brings 35 years of experience spanning retail and corporate banking, internal control, risk management, and corporate governance.

His appointment to Edinburgh-headquartered Business Stream comes as the business continues to focus on delivering its ambitious growth strategy and purpose-led vision.

Previously, Brian was a long-serving Executive member of Sainsbury’s Bank, where he played a pivotal role in steering the organisation through its separation from Lloyds Banking Group. During his tenure, he was instrumental in developing the Bank’s commercial, digital and data strategies, alongside the build of new products, platforms and operations.

Prior to his career at Sainsbury’s Bank, Brian held senior control and corporate finance roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc and PwC.

In addition to his new role, Brian is a Non-Executive Director at MeyGen Holdings Limited, the global leader in seabed tidal flow energy. He has also served as a senior independent advisor to Accenture’s UK Risk & Compliance Consulting practice.
