Savills invests in new water saving deal

Water retailer Business Stream has been awarded a new water supply contract with international real estate adviser Savills.

Edinburgh-based Business Stream has been working in partnership with the company since the Scottish retail water market opened in 2008.

In recent years, Business Stream has worked with Savills to develop a unique service offering that meets the specific water requirements of complex customer portfolios held by managing agents, such as when there is a change of tenancy.

Under the new agreement, worth over £800,000 per year, Business Stream will provide water and wastewater services to over 200 of the sites that Savills manage, across both Scotland and England.

Shaun Greenwood at Savills stated: "Our focus going forward will be to work with Business Stream to build on our water efficiency efforts to date, helping us to meet our sustainability ambitions”.

Jo Dow, Chief Executive, Business Stream, commented: “We pride ourselves on developing strong partnerships with our customers and Savills is no exception. We are delighted that they have agreed to renew their partnership with us and we’re looking forward to working with them to identify further environmental and financial savings.”

Business Stream works with over 340,000 businesses and public sector organisations across the UK and to date has helped its customers save more than £242 million in discounts and water and energy efficiencies and over 43 billion litres of water. To further support its water efficiency commitments, the retailer has launched its ambitious pledge to help its customers reduce their water use by 20% and in September 2019 became the first water retailer to be awarded the Waterwise Water Efficiency Checkmark for its offices in Edinburgh.
